WEBVTT 00:00:05.800 --> 00:00:11.280 When I was in medical school, if you had asked me what I thought I was 00:00:11.305 --> 00:00:15.455 going to do, I would have told you I was going to be an ear, 00:00:15.480 --> 00:00:16.180 nose, and throat surgeon. 00:00:16.205 --> 00:00:21.540 I never thought I would go into any field related to obstetric and gynecology. 00:00:21.565 --> 00:00:26.480 But as I learned more, and I experienced more, I found I really 00:00:26.505 --> 00:00:28.740 enjoyed working with women. 00:00:28.765 --> 00:00:36.540 I really enjoyed being part of an incredibly special time in their life. 00:00:36.565 --> 00:00:40.980 One of the things that I always say to patients is when you leave your first 00:00:41.005 --> 00:00:46.620 visit, you should always feel better than you did when you walked in. 00:00:46.645 --> 00:00:49.980 Even when you have to give people news that maybe isn't exactly what 00:00:50.005 --> 00:00:53.600 they want to hear, I would hope that everybody would leave their first visit 00:00:53.625 --> 00:00:59.000 feeling like they were listened to, feeling like they have a team that 00:00:59.025 --> 00:01:07.980 cares about them, and hopefully feeling empowered by the fact that they now have a 00:01:08.005 --> 00:01:10.130 plan and a pathway. 00:01:10.160 --> 00:01:14.880 It's really nice to go to work and have a big part of your day and a big part 00:01:14.905 --> 00:01:22.615 of your job making other people's dreams 00:01:22.640 --> 00:01:25.240 come true and being part of creating happiness and joy for them.
